Divorce does not end a family. It only changes the address.

I have two little pieces of my heart — a son who is 1.5 years old, and a daughter who is just 6 months old. Today, they live with their mother. And me? I live with the hope of seeing them again.

It has been 8 months. 8 months without their laugh, without their tiny hands, without saying “goodnight” to them.

Yes, there is a case in court now. She has filed for child maintenance. And I respect that. They are my children. Their food, their milk, their medicine — it is my responsibility. I will do it.

Three hearings have already passed. The court will decide the amount. I don’t know the number yet. But I do know one thing for sure: no amount can replace the time I am missing with them.

People ask me, “Are you fighting for custody?”
No. Right now, I am just fighting for one thing — the right to be their father.
To hold them for a few minutes. To hear “Baba”. To see my daughter grow, and to teach my son how to walk without falling.

The law in Pakistan says a father has visitation rights. The court usually allows it. I have requested for that too. I’m waiting.

This is not about me and her anymore. This is about two small kids who deserve both a mother’s love and a father’s love.

Some nights are heavy. But I pray. I pray that one day soon, I will get a court order, or better — a phone call saying “Come meet them.”

Until then, I am working. I am saving. I am preparing a small room in my house. With toys. With a small bed. Waiting.

Because fathers don’t stop being fathers, even when they are far.

To every father going through this:
Don’t lose hope. Pay what you can. Show up in court. Stay soft. The children are watching, even from a distance. And one day, they will understand.
